One of the things I’ve always meant to do for the books is post a playlist of songs. So here for your enjoyment is a YouTube playlist of 74 songs (!!!) that cover all three books. This is a mix of songs that could feasibly be about vampires, 80s songs, songs mentioned in the books, and songs that either remind me of characters and events or have the feel of the books to me.

Here’s some of the specific songs and the reason I’ve put them on the list:

Alex:
Barcelona – The Takers : There’s a line in here “I’m a thief and I’ll take you.” along with the general admonishment to not try and hold on to other people too tight and people always leaving, makes this song remind me a lot of Alex.

U2 – Acrobat “I must be an acrobat, To talk like this, And act like that, And you can dream, So dream out loud, And don’t let the bastards grind you down” “And you can find, Your own way out, And you can build, And I can will, And you can call, I can’t wait until, You can stash, And you can seize, Responsibilities”

Hannah:
Concrete Blonde – I Don’t Need A Hero I think this one is pretty self-explanatory
Talk Talk – It’s My Life “It’s my life, don’t you forget, it never ends”
Fiona Apple – Criminal “I’ve been a bad, bad girl, I’ve been careless with a delicate man, And its a sad, sad world, When a girl will break a boy, Just because she can”

Alex and Hannah:
Snow Patrol – It’s beginning to get to me “all this fighting with aching joints. No one knows what this fight’s about.”
Heather Nova – Walk This World – If these 3 books had an end credits song it would be this one.

The Shattered Ones Collection is 628 pages!!! The story is face paced and a would be a great summer read. I’m so excited to get this out in print in time for summer vacations. I hope you enjoy it.
